Carrows Restaurant opened in Goleta, Calif., just north of Santa Barbara. Today, there are more than 90 Carrows Restaurants, most of which are company-owned. Carrows are located primarily in California with locations in New Mexico, Texas and Nevada.There was a time, not all that long ago, when the folks at the restaurant around the corner called you by name, remembered your order, and took pride in preparing your meal exactly the way you liked it. It wasn’t just their business -- it was personal. They knew they’d see you again soon. In May 1996, both Carrows and its sister chain, Coco's Bakery Restaurants, were acquired by Advantica Restaurant Group, Inc. In 2002, the chains were acquired by Catalina Restaurant Group Inc
