My partner and I held our wedding at Fort Mason Center. Our ceremony was in the chapel, and our reception was just a few hundred feet away in the Firehouse building. Fort Mason is a fabulous, picturesque location , the Firehouse is right on the water with a perfect view of Alcatraz, and the Golden Gate Bridge is visible from the front gates. We originally picked Fort Mason because it is one of the most affordable venues we found in San Francisco, and they placed very few restrictions on our event. Included in the cost of rental were tables and chairs, which saved us quite a bit of money; there were other items available for rent at much cheaper cost than I found elsewhere.
The staff at Fort Mason was readily available to answer any of our concerns. We were able to make several appointments to view the space, and they never rushed us or pushed us to make a decision. They were up front with all of their requirements and costs, so nothing came as a surprise to us. Furthermore, someone helped us design the layout of the room, providing us with a floorplan of our reception hall. I was very surprised that this service was included, and it proved to be invaluable when my family helped us set up on the day of the wedding.
I was extremely happy with my choice of venue. The natural beauty of Fort Mason, the gorgeous views, the ample, accessible parking and the graciousness of the staff really contributed to making my wedding wonderful.
