The Canterbury Hotel in downtown Indianapolis is the perfect classic wedding venue with classic elegance, attention to every detail and outstanding service provided for the wedding couple and their valued guests. The hotel has the unique distinction of being placed on the National Register of Historic Places by The United States Department of the Interior. It also boasts a 128 year history and lodging lineage that extends back to the 1850's. The Canterbury Hotel was renovated in 1983 and its name came from the intentional imitation of Canterbury, England with its luxury, traditions and ambience that reflect the charm and historical quality of ""Olde England.""


The unique attractions and amenities of the Canterbury downtown location make it convenient for wedding guests to walk to most Indianapolis shopping, dining, entertainment, sports venues and museums. Weddings and special events are done in tasteful grandeur that creates the perfect wedding memory for the entire wedding party. The antique furnishings, large, medium and intimate size rooms for the wedding, parties, dinners and special celebratory events make it ideal for all occasions associated with the grand event. The marble floors, audio and visual equipment, floral venue partners and in-house caterers attend to every detail and special request.


The Canterbury has an outstanding caterer service that serves wedding full-course Entrees, Entree Duets and include soup, salad and wedding cake. The service also includes coffee, Decaf and assorted Teas. Soup is available in 5 selections and salad is available in 7 selections. Meals range in price from $33.00 to $55.00 per guest. Dinners consist of steak, chicken, seafood or fish and rack of lamb. All prices are subject to change. All prices are subject to a 20% service charge. Weddings and special events are subject to a 9% state sales tax. Customized menus are available upon request for your unique event. Prices include cake cut and service fee.
