About Five Fifty-Five
Steve and Michelle Corry, the proprietors of five fifty-five, arrived in Portland armed with a passionate vision and extensive experience in the restaurant industry. Steve began his culinary career as a brew master at several breweries in Northern California. In 1999 he attended the New England Culinary Institute in Burlington Vermont. After graduating in 2001, he returned to California to work at Domaine Chandon in Napa Valley. Most recently he served as the sous chef at rissini's Restaurant (part of White Barn Inn corporation.) A graduate of Boston University with a Bachelor's degree in hotel and restaurant adminastration, Michelle Corry has worked at numerous prestigious establishments, including the French Laundry in Napa, Arrows in Ogunquit, and the White Barn Inn in Kennebunk, Maine. Together, they have envisioned a dining experience that would combine a comfortable atmosphere, professional service, and fresh, simple, and delicious food, without pretention and for a reasonable price. Steve and Michelle Corry would like to welcome you to their first collaborative, five fifty-five.

It's a Gem for a small party!, An Eventective User from Scarborough, Maine

The appetizers and salads are all very very good. The truffled lobster “mac & cheese” is absolutely fantastic. The huntsman’s burger is served on a house-made blue cheese biscuit - an incredible burger. The best burger I've ever had. The salmon is cooked to perfection all the time. The service and staff are impeccable. Consistently great dining!
