About Me:
My name is Kristen Kirkelie. I am absolutely in love with photography. I found this out when I became a mother, and since then, I have not been able to put my camera down. I fell in love with taking beautiful images to share with others and it has become a true passion in my life.
My Philosophy:
I believe that photography is a means of capturing a fleeting moment and recollecting the emotions that were present at that moment. It is a way to stop time and allow further study of an instant. It is a record of history. I find myself looking at things in an entirely different way by trying to capture a moment and a feeling through my camera lens.
My Style:
I do all of my own photography work. My style is very relaxed, fun and flexible. I do my work according to your style and preferences. I do not hurry my clients - we will take our time. Therefore, appointments are not scheduled back to back.
Session Times:
Sessions usually take about an hour or more. We will take our time - no rushing, no pressure. If the kiddos/babies need a break, we can take one.
High School Seniors:
Senior sessions last about one and a half to two hours and include both indoor and outdoor settings. Seniors may bring several different outfit changes. I suggest staying away from heavy pattern and logos on clothing.
Studio:
I have a full studio for more formal shoots.
Sessions at your home: I am able to travel to your home for a photo session. Photos taken at your home will be completed with natural lighting. For optimal natural lighting, I schedule appointments starting in the mornings until about noon.
In-Home Formal: If you would like to have more formal pictures taken at your home, I am able to pack up my studio equipment and bring it to you. (There is an extra charge to bring backdrop and lighting equipment).
Off-Site Sessions:
When weather allows, I absolutely love taking photos outdoors. Nature is a beautiful background and you can't beat natural lighting. There is no extra charge for off-site sessions completed outdoors as natural lighting is used within the Omaha - Metro Area. I am willing to travel to other areas for an extra charge.
Weddings: I am very detail oriented. I want to not only capture your wedding and reception, but all the little details as well. I want you to remember your day like it was yesterday. I am willing to start your day with you at your salon, if you choose. I will be with you for every step, start to finish. Please visit my work in the Wedding Gallery.
